EP-78 by Samsara Cycle Audio 5 (1)

Samsara-EP78_3

EP-78 is an electric piano.

It was designed to create a vintage electric piano feel. It uses subtle tonal changes that are influenced by velocity. This is not a Rompler or Sample based instrument. It uses various tuned frequencies to achieve its tonal quality. These can be varied using the Timbre control.

The effect of pickup phase is influenced by the Phase control. The Envelope is designed to respond as it would on an Electric Piano and is changed using the Decay control. There is a Treble and Bass control to alter the overall tone of the instrument. The Vibrato section is a simple design and is included an emphasis switch to change the sound of the Vibrato. Emphasis is somewhere between a Phaser and a Chorus and adds a bit more interest to the sound.

Digital Systemic Emulations Elsita VST AU WIN OSX [FREE] 0 (0)

1590088580_elsita_2

Elsita is a soviet analog drum synthesizer produced from 1989 until 1991, when RMIF went bankrupt.

Although being released in a pretty late period, the Elsita was built following old standards from the mid 70’s/early 80’s : fully analog, trigger-only, with big knobs.

The Elsita has 4 channels, which are not perfectly identical, at least on my model. It sounds more like a A/B/A/B disposition (As the colors suggest actually), but they all have the same parameters.

SC-3 by Samsara Cycle Audio[win, VSTI3, x64] 0 (0)

Samsara_SC3

SC-3 is a clavinet influenced instrument.

Keys Section: Phase simulates Pickup mixing. Octave can be used to switch between 3 octaves. +Keys introduces a 1 octave higher instrument (this is a subtle effect).

Timbre Section: Tone is used to control the frequency brightness. Timbre Velocity is used to add a level of attack brightness. Experiment between these two controls to introduce various shapes, especially for Twang effect.

Tone Section: Simple cut and boost for overall tone of the instrument.

Shape Section: These controls are used to create various feel to the playing and adjust the envelope of the instrument. The effect of these controls work closely with the Timbre Section.

Amplifier Section: These controls influence the final output of the instrument.
Velocity sensitivity can be increased from less active to more. The distortion control provides a natural saturation to the output.

Mute: This slider simulates a dampen effect on strings.

Onsen Audio OS-251 v1.0.1 VST3 AU WiN MAC LiNUX [FREE] 0 (0)

OS-251_screenshot

OS-251 is a pure digital lo-fi synthesizer plugin for Mac, Windows and Linux
OS-251 is a “JUNO” style digital subtractive synthesizer with a simple yet powerful DSP algorithm. Unlike other plugins that use analogue simulation, OS-251 uses digital algorithms to give warm, lo-fi sounds. The design of the oscillators and the selection of parameters were influenced by the JUNO-106, making it easier to express a thicker, chunkier sound.

The oscillator has alias noise (specific to digital signal processing) famous on classic samplers like E-mu SP-12 which adds lo-fi feeling to the sound. You can enjoy the powerful sound at modern sampling rates with your DAW.

Easy to use
Tired of overwhelming synthesizers with hundreds of parameters and presets? Then OS-251 is for you! OS-251 is equipped with only carefully selected parameters, allowing musicians to concentrate on music production. You can see every parameter at once, so you can have a stress-free experience. Because the number of the parameters is limited, you can create the desired sounds yourself quickly and you don’t have to spend your precious time choosing presets.

Key features
• Up to 10 voices of polyphony
• Oscillators (Sin, Square, Saw), with Shape parameter
• Square sub oscillator
• Noise oscillator
• Biquad low-pass filter (LPF) with Frequency and Resonance parameters
• Biquad high-pass filter (HPF) with Frequency parameter
• Envelope generator which can control LPF and amplitude
• Low-frequency oscillator (LFO) which can control LPF, amplitude, and Shape parameter
• LFO sync
• Chorus
• Flexible pitch controls (pitch bend width, octave, semitone, fine tuning)

Majoris Free by Fanan Team 0 (0)

maj_free_1

Majoris Free is Majoris’es little brother. It’s a unique synth based arranger organ that can enhance creativity and help songwriters and composers to quickly compose new ideas and melodies. It emulates the automatic accompaniment organs method (like in korg pa900 and etc.) and powers a built-in drums & bass + acc oscillators to play styles that can be programmed by the user and played as a style with no additional MIDI routing, internal MIDI connection or MIDI cables straight from your instrument channel in the DAW.

The method

Like any other hardware arranger organ, Majoris splits the physical keyboard into 2 zones. The right zone plays solo while The left zone controls the played style’s chords which can be switched in fingered or one finger mode. Majoris Free has 6 variations slots per style include intro, main variations, fills and end. The variations can be controlled by any MIDI controller or even with MIDI pads or the keyboard notes. Even the “jump to” destinations can be re-programmed.

The internal sound generators

Majoris Free uses synths and a drum sampler as it’s own sound generators. The drum sampler’s kits can be deeply programmed and edited and the bass and the solo synths are quite basic but easy to operate. The style sequencer which create new styles uses almost the same programming method as our Callisto. You can program both minor and majors variations of your style and save each with it’s unique tempo or synced to the DAW.

An apology!

Since this project is too huge to count all it’s nuances and mini features, we recommend novice arranger users to first read the principles of the arranger organs. Sorry we can’t count them all, but we believe this tool is quite intuitive with a reasonable shallow learning curve, so please, make a little research before you dive into it.

Main features list:

  • 6 variations drums, bass and ACC styles slots with major and minor chords per variation.
  • One finger (jumps from minor to major with double clicking) or full fingered modes.
  • Dedicated style’s 10 slots drum sampler with built-in effects.
  • Dedicated style’s bass synth with built in effects and ducking option.
  • Dedicated solo synth with 3 variations per style and on-GUI switching buttons.
  • Transition sensitivity button.
  • Mute button.
  • Hold variation button.
  • split keyboard knob.
  • global and independent transpose knob.
  • Master, style and solo volume knobs.
  • “Jump to” menu selectors.
  • Dedicated or synced tempo.
  • Full automation.
  • Auto cymbal crash feature.
  • Internal “Callisto” style programming sequencer.
  • Visual info bar.
  • Resizable GUI.

Differences between Majoris Free and Majoris

Majoris Free is basically a complete free edition of Majoris that has few limitations: It has 6 variation instead of the 10 in the senior edition, it lack the solo MIDI out connection to 3th party VST’is in the D.A.W and it lacks the separate 6 audio outputs to individual D.A.W channels. Other than that, both versions share same structures, same styles and additional information (and therefore the same installer as well).

SpectMorph is a free software project which allows to analyze samples of musical instruments, and to combine them (morphing). It can be used to construct hybrid sounds, for instance a sound between a trumpet and a flute; or smooth transitions, for instance a sound that starts as a trumpet and then gradually changes to a flute. In its current version, SpectMorph ships with many ready-to-use instruments which can be combined using morphing.
SpectMorph is implemented in C++ and licensed under the GNU LGPL version 3.

Alphatron SE by HG Fortune[win, VSTI, x86] 0 (0)

AlphatronSE_3

Alphatron is a hybrid analog / digital oscillators synthesizer.

Alphatron is not just a simple VA synthesizer instead in using a 3rd oscillator with digital waves (quite similar to an Ensoniq ESQ-1 / SQ 80 from the late 1980ies) it does offer a lot more sonic potential. Also this 3 rd oscillator serves as sync master for oscillator 2 thus creating a lot more sonic flavours. Amplitude Modulation has got it’s dedicated adjustable output and uses oscillator 2 as main source being modulated either by osc. 1 or 3. Oscillator 1 is a polywave oscillator with up to 5 additional waves, so you might have something like Super Saw(tm), Super Pulse, Super Ramp etc.

  • 1 VA Oscillator with up to 6 poly waves for Saw, Ramp, Sine, Tri, and Pulse.
  • 1 VA Oscillator with single waves as above plus white and pink noise, Sync slave.
  • 1 Sample Oscillator with fairly typical digital waves with different hamonic content, Sync master.
  • 1 Amplitude Modulation with dedicated output.
  • 1 24 dB resonant Low Pass filter with dedicated ADSR EG, 4 mixable mod sources.
  • 1 VCA EG.
  • Both EG have 3 modes: exponential, reverse exponential, and linear; and optional control for Attack and Decay by velocity.
  • 1 Booster or Enciter selectable.
  • 1 Mystify with three selctable types (Brite, Soft, Dark).
  • 1 bpm synced Delay with adjustable Offset controlley manually or by modsource, Pan.
  • 1 Bass Boost.
  • 1 Pan for undelayed signal.
  • 1 small Reverb for adding some nice flavour.
  • 1 Saturator.
  • 1 main Volume.
  • 3 x LFO, 1 x Duo LFO (with two waves and phase control for 2nd wave), 1 x S&H.
  • 1 Pitch LFO with option to speed up or down the LFO speed controlled by Modwheel or Aftertouch.
  • 3 Lazy buttons.
