Shape is a simple waveshaper/wavefolder effect that has 5 shaping curves, Hard Clip, Soft Clip, Tube, Triangle, and Sine.
The scope visualizes shaping curve (transfer function) that maps Input and output values to the horizontal and vertical axes, respectively.
The darker orange color line visualizes the shaping curve.
The brighter orange color line visualizes the range of the audio signal.
The shape selector selects the shaping curve.
The Input control adjusts the amount of gain. Increasing the amount of gain produces more harmonics.
The bias control adjusts the amount of bias. The bias creates asymmetrical distortion, producing warm even harmonics.
The dry/wet control adjusts the balance of the dry and wet signal.
The Output control adjusts the output volume.
The Oversampling chooser selects the oversampling factor. Oversampling reduces alias noise caused by nonlinear effects such as saturator, overdrive, distortion, and clipper. Increasing the oversampling factor can reduce alias noise more, but increases CPU load and latency.
Operating the controls
Fine-tune the knob
To fine-tune the knob, hold down the shift key and drag the knob.
Reset the knob
To reset the knob to the default value, double-click the knob.
Electron EQ is a tube equalizer inspired by popular EQ’s that have been in top studios for decades.
This bad boy is full of cool features, like 4x oversampling, mid/side processing, and meticulous tube-overdrive circuit emulation.
Low Boost – Low shelf filter of original design controlled by the “freq” dial near it from 22 Hz to 300 Hz by 0 dB to +10 dB.
Low Atten – Low cut filter just above the Low Boost filter. It helps define and fatten the low-end, by 0 dB to -10 dB.
High Boost – High shelf filter of original design controlled by the “freq” dial near it from 1000 Hz to 16000 Hz by 0 dB to +10 dB.
High Atten – High cut filter just above the High Boost filter. It helps define and round off the high-end, by 0 dB to -10 dB.
Bandwidth – Controls the “Q” factor, or bandwidth of the low and high filters, 0 being the most narrow and +10 being the widest.
LP – Low-pass filter from 20000 Hz to 3000 Hz.
Drive – Controls the drive parameter for a meticulously modeled tube circuit with parallel processing to subtly dial in tube saturation. When the drive slider is at 0 dB, the processing turns off to save CPU usage when the effect is not desired.
Trim – Output volume control.
EQ In/Out – Toggles the EQ processing on or off without resetting the current state of the filter’s boost and atten settings.
OS – Toggles 4x oversampling on or off. Toggling oversampling on will set the LP filter to 19000 Hz if it is currently set to 20000 Hz. This takes care of some sampling rate math and lets you hear the high end difference. It would be best to leave the LP filter lower than 19000 while oversampling is on.
Stereo Mode – This allows you to choose between mid/side/left/right/stereo processing. Use this to remove low end from the sides or add brightness to the sides, whatever cool mid/side/left/right/stereo processing you like to do! This effect will of course perform the best on a stereo source.
Setting a filter to 0 dB will turn off processing to save CPU for unused filters.
The plugin will save it’s window size when you hit save in your DAW and it will recall the size on the next startup.
Prime Studio® (powered by Acustica Audio) Charly is a summing tool based on an analogue tube device that has been modified according to our specifications. Charly refines signals with fine tube character and analog punch adding harmonic distortion.
Description from the previous version:
Charly is perfect to rhythmically enhance drum loops, to bring to life dull and boring sounds, as well as to fatten loops and mixes.
Its simplicity translates into an output gain divided between -10dB and +10dB, an on/off switch button which turns on the plugin or sets it in bypass mode, and a couple of left/right VU meters that measure the stereo input level. All the magic is done by the output gain rotary knob; it acts like a stereo enhancer and adds a slight compression and reverb. The amplification is made without distortions and artifacts.
The STR-X was built to be a simple but powerful, digitally-oriented guitar amp, one which isn’t based off of any pre-existing analog models. Tonally, it is capable of high gain, modest crunch, and cleaner tones with some added heat.
Mode: The Mode control in the center of the amp changes the crossover point that feeds the pre-amp distortion (after the “X” pedal-style distortion). Normal will give you a solid low-end, with retained clarity in the mids and highs even when cranked. Thickdrops the crossover point lower, resulting in greater intermodulation of the distorted signal, and a fuzzy tone ready for a sludge or doom sound. Finally, Openseparates all of the low-end from the mids and highs for a tight and bright tone, perfect for fast palm-muted playing or any situation where the low-end of the other two modes might be excessive.
X: This mysterious knob works like a one-knob distortion pedal (inspired by the Ibanez Tube Screamer), with filters that focus the tone on the mid-range the further it’s driven—good for an extra bump before the amp, dialing in a lead tone that cuts through everything else, or for tightening the bass on Thick mode while still remaining truly Thick.
Gain: This is the pre-amp drive section, ranging from not-quite-clean to a heavy wall of distortion. At high gain, the texture varies significantly, depending on the Mode used. This stage generates asymmetric distortion and both even and odd harmonics.
Master: This knob provides the output gain of the amp, with added distortion as well. Although not claiming to emulate any particular type of tube, it does generate the symmetric, odd-harmonic distortion you’d expect from pentode tubes. With low pre-amp gain, you can use this knob to dial in fairly clean tones down low, and bright crunch up high.
