Echo Sound Works has announced its House Piano sample library for Kontakt 6 (full version) is free for a limited time.
Anyone who produces dance music knows the “House Piano” sound. The iconic sound first debuted in the late 1980s on a Korg M1 and still gets used today.
This library is inspired by the sound of Joel Corry, Sigala, Jonas Blue, MK, Nathan Dawe, Kygo and so many more.
The interface is simple and easy to use with the following controls:
Transient – use this macro to add a snappy pluck to the attack of the sound. Perfect when you need the piano to cut through a mix.
Bowed Keys – This macro adds a sustained layer to the notoriously short M1 piano sound.
Synth Keys – This macro adds a synthesized key sound to the main M1 piano.
Effects – Filter out high frequencies with the LP Filter and add some dimension with the reverb control.
Performance – These three macros allow you to fine-tune the performance of the piano to fit your playing style or MIDI.
House Piano works with a full version of Native Instrument Kontakt only (the free Player version isn’t supported).
Fleeter by SNFK Music is a Virtual Effect Audio Plugin for Windows. It functions as a VST 3 Plugin
Fleeter is a transient processor / saturator designed to fatten up drums. It has only three simple knobs: Time, Amount, and Saturation. Time corresponds to how long a transient is. Amount corresponds to how much or little the plugin should emphasize a transient. Saturation adds analog charm to the track and creates upwards harmonics.
StupidCompressor by SNFK Music is a Virtual Effect Audio Plugin for Windows. It functions as a VST Plugin.
This plugin isn’t meant to be tweaked for hours – it’s designed with the set-and-forget mentality. StupidCompressor is designed to be stupid easy to use. It contains classic controls as well as some advanced features in the advanced panel for more control on your sound. StupidCompressor is open source in the hope that it will help other developers in their own development and that other developers can help make StupidCompressor even better.
Full Feature List
Stereo Compressor with ratio, attack, release, and gain staging
Visualizer for the ratio and threshold
Visualizer showing the input & output levels, the threshold, and gain reduction.
Bandpass Compressor – Only compress a certain frequency range.
Transient Shaper – features both increase and decrease in transients.
Limiter – Found in the clipping section; it is used for clipping without creating new harmonics (and also plain limiting if you wish).
Soft & Hard Clipper – Sometimes you will want new harmonics; these are perfect for adding them in.
As a distant cousin of Drum Snapper, it features the same attitude for increasing the Attack of a source, but expands it with the ability to enhance certain frequency areas on the attack portion of a sound.
Do you have a source that is too buried in a mix?
Do you want to make certain frequencies pop?
SpikeQ enables you to add huge boosts of eq but not making them too boomy and loose (in the low end) or too splashy (in the high end).
These plugins are free to use and I make them on my spare time. If you like them and are able to help by becoming a Patreon member, I would be very grateful.
Bionic is a “transient splicing engine”, i.e. it is designed to give detailed control over a range of parameters needed to mix and match a number of different initial transients to another set of tails/longer sounds.
SOUND DESIGN POSSIBILITIES
The result are
Hybrid recreations of classic sounds with mostly organic attacks (taps, mallets, plucks, brush) and a mix of organic and synth/pure sine tails.
Creative, inventive sounds that push the combinations of previously unrelated sounds into new territory
Some of the “bionic” sounds included in this initial version of the product (Lite):
Replicas of classic house organ sounds
Celesta, Music Box, Xylophone
A range of bass sounds including a “reconstructed” pizzicato upright bass
There are four layers, accessible on page 1: two transient layers, and two tail layers. Levels can be adjusted as balance between each of the tail/transient layers respectively, and globally between transients and tails. Each layer contains sample offset and tuning controls as well as a “humanize” function which introduces subtle to not-so-subtle random pitch variations (especially helpful for making non-tonal transients more realistic).
The effects page includes filters, EQ, saturation and delay + reverb controls.
4 layers of sound: 2 transient layers and 2 tail layers
Extensive sound sculpting controls, including crossover fade (between transient and tail samples), crossover point, tail envelope, transient attack curve (shape)
Vibrato, Velocity Sensitivity (Volume, Low Pass and High Pass) and Humanize Controls for in-depth realism
20 Presets: Tap Celesta, Tap Bell, Mr Android Pluck, Plastic Pizzicato Bass, Breathy Stab, Expansive Xylophone, Rhodesian Scholar, House Organ, Vibey House Organ, Steel Drum Baby, Music Box, Starlight Swoosh, A Gong or Two, Plucky Squelchy Bass, White Noise Organ Stab, Pillow Harp, Gamelan, Hammond Bass, Electric Bass, Heavy Tines.
Replika Analog Style delay
Based on Riot Audio’s proprietary BIONIC TRANSIENT SPLICING ENGINE
Total size of sampled content: 0.36 GB
Requires Native Instruments Kontakt 6.4.2 (Full Version)
The CPU-friendly little brother of Puncher 2 combines a transient shaper, multiband compressor and paralell compressor in a single effect, featuring real-time visual feedback and pop and click free bypass.
“Without diving into the complexities of audio processing, sometimes you just want a quick and easy way to make your tracks sound better.
With powerful compression and transient shaping, Puncher 2 Lite is here to help you hit your listeners right between the eyes. We’ve kept things simple and ultra-streamlined, stripping back the original controls of Puncher 2 and retaining only the most useful parts of the interface.”
Crack is a workhorse of a plugin. It’s great on just one drum or for quickly adjusting a loop and is cheap on your CPU so you can load it up across all your tracks. Its other advantage is that it can be blended with the dry signal using the Dry/Wet knob, so you can dial in the amount of the effect. Like Impact, Crack features a custom limiter for peak reduction, soft analog-modeled clipping, and a maximizer specially tuned for use with transient materials.
