OTYKEN – STORM (Official Music Video)

The music video was filmed in Siberia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, on the Chulym River. 30 km from the village of Pasechnoye (the capital of the Chulyms). This is the birthplace of the members of the OTYKEN group. Chulyms are the smallest indigenous people of Siberia. According to one version, the Chulyms are the ancestors of the Japanese Ainu and the indigenous peoples of North America. According to another version, the Chulyms are an ancient Turkic tribe.

The song OTYKEN – STORM talks about the difficulties that people face when traveling to the East. The music of the OTYKEN group is dedicated to giving kindness and warm light to all people on earth! The magical power of our music will heal your soul and your body as well, and it can even send you into a trance.

Midi-Erfinder Dave Smith

Der Erfinder des Midi-Protokolls Dave Smith ist mit 72 Jahren verstorben. Das hat das von ihm gegründete Unternehmen Sequential mitgeteilt. Smith war maßgeblich an der Schaffung von Midi beteiligt – dem Industriestandard für die Kommunikation zwischen elektronischen Instrumenten.

1982 hatte Smith das zusammen mit Takahashi Ikutaro entwickelte Midi-Protokoll vorgestellt. Mit Hilfe von Midi können elektronische Instrumente miteinander kommunizieren; der Standard schließt sowohl die Konfiguration der beteiligten Hardware als auch das Kommunikationsprotokoll an sich ein.

Midi war ursprünglich für die Kommunikation zwischen elektronischen Instrumenten vorgesehen. So konnten beispielsweise Tastaturen mehrere Synthesizer ansteuern. Die Technik bekam durch die wachsende Verbreitung von Computern innerhalb der 1980er und 1990er Jahre zudem eine neue Bedeutung. Dank des Midi-Protokolls können Musiker beispielsweise Notenmaterial direkt über Computerprogramme einspielen – ein physischer Synthesizer ist nicht mehr nötig. Die eingespielten Noten können zudem im Nachhinein verändert werden. Dabei werden alle Steuerdaten gespeichert.
