Husserl2 Mocha Edition by Yofiel 0 (0)

husserl2Mocha

A 32-voice complex waveset synthesizer with 5D filter,
internal 151×143 modulation matrix, and more

The Mocha Edition enhances Husserl2 with a more soothing, less vibrant interface. Husserl2 continues to aim to be one of the best free synths you can get. It took a couple of years to make, but I am retired and have no need for more money, so it will stay free. This is not a ‘beta buggy’ version to build a customer base before I start selling it. It will stay free. And I do not require registration or email to download it, which apparently is very unusual these days.

Because Husserl2 takes advantage of all the cores available on your machine, it cannot run inside plugin hosts, which only support one core thread per plugin. As a result, this is a standalone app with native, ASIO, and ReWire client drivers for connection to all current standard DAWs. Although the app includes anti-aliased oscillators and a 4x-oversampled filter, for professional applications a sample rate of at least 88kHz is recommended to provide crisp results in the C8 octave, but if you only play to C7 then standard sample rates are sufficient.

Features include:

  • Fully Compiled 64-bit Multithreaded Audio Path, carefully optimized for performance without sacrificing quality.
  • Up to 32 voices with custom LRU voice allocator; base CPU usage ~10%, +1% per playing voice, on 4GHz i7 @44.1kHz sample rate with Windows10 DirectX drivers.
  • 2 Oscillators with dual contour, phase, ring modulation, frequency modulation, oscillator mix, plus gate/osc sync controls. EPTR-antialiased square/pulse and saw/triangle waveforms are followed by 44 wavesets, including filter sweeps, morphs, formants, and harmonic bundles. The dual-axis spline-interpolated wavesets contain 127 tables of 256 sample points for each continuously variable waveform.
  • ‘5d’ SVF Filter with continuously variable cutoff, resonance, 0/2/4 pole mix, LP/BP/HP mix, and 4x-oversampled saturation provides a virtual infinite sound palette.
  • Compressor and limiter with polyphonic and monophonic modes.
  • Internal Modulation Matrix with 143 modulation destinations and 151 sources including:
    • 3 ADSR Envelopes with graphical control of velocity shaping.
    • 3 LFOs: two polyphonic, one monophonic linked to mod wheel; sine/double-sine, square/pulse, saw/tri, stepped, and random with contour shaping, freq mod, amp mod, and sync.
    • Sample and Hold with trigger-level control.
    • XY Pad to mix up to four modulation sources to any modulation destination.
    • 120 Mapped MIDI Controllers, plus bend, modwheel + LFO, note pitch, velocity, and #notes.
  • 50 Microtuning Tables.
  • Preset Manager with simple button controls, preset naming, and bank load/save.
  • Lots of Demo Presets. Notes may be stored and recalled with presets too.
  • MIDI file player built in, with channel selection.
  • MIDI I/O: note on/off, MIDI clock, program change, pitch bend, all 90 panel controls, and standard MIDI controllers such as pedals, etc.
  • Optimized Graphical Display of oscillator waveforms, output waveform, filter curve, and modulation values for most recent voice; velocity display of all active voices.
  • Resizable Panel. Zoom in or out as much as you like. Synth reopens the way you closed it.
  • Interactive Help built in for wavesets, filter characteristics, microtuning tables, and with complete description of all panel controls.
  • Open Source distribution in Cycling74 Max8, if you wish to change it in any way. sacrificing quality.

U-he BeatZille v1.0.2 x64 x86 VST VST3 AU AAX WiN MAC LiNUX [FREE] 0 (0)

uhe-beatzille-screenshot-fullui-1150x881

Beatzille: little monster
Beatzille is a compact version of our monster modular synthesizer Bazille. Although its condensed feature set makes it the ‘little brother’, Beatzille is still an engaging and capable synthesizer. Power and style run in the family. Digital oscillators, analogue-style filter and flexible patching will keep you busy for a good while before thinking about tackling Bazille.

• Over 160 factory presets
• NEW in v1.0.2: Support for Oddsound MTS-ESP

Small and mighty
Striking the balance between too much and too little, Beatzille is the happy medium. It presents an introduction to modular synthesis and a taste of the power of Bazille without being overwhelming.

Oscillators
Beatzille’s oscillators embrace two digital synthesis methods developed during the 1980s: frequency modulation (FM) and phase distortion (PD). We also added a process we call fractal resonance (Fractalize), which sounds similar to the classic oscillator sync effect when swept.

All three synthesis methods run simultaneously, so you can combine them to create an extensive range of sounds. Beatzille is great at generating weird modular blips and squeaks, but you can even coax soft pads and organic keys from the oscillators—as demonstrated by the factory library. Add modulation for even more sound possibilities.

Filter
The filter is a favourite in the sound designer’s toolkit. Cut frequencies, boost others, add texture and colour. Beatzille’s analogue-style filter complements the digital oscillators, providing warmth and drive. And its self-oscillation capability opens up some intriguing sound design opportunities.

Even with a single filter Beatzille offers plenty of creative horizons. The six parallel outputs (highpass, bandpass and four types of lowpass) with multiple modulation options make it easy to create complex, shifting textures.

Delay
Beatzille has only one built-in effect, but it’s good one: stereo delay with optional host sync. Push your sound around in space with independent delay times and volumes for each channel. Conjure ghostly echoes using tape-like wobble and filtering or set up endless repetitions. Tweak all controls to find the perfect delay.

Release notes:

The Windows installer was improved to prevent common installations issues. Please check the suggested installation paths during installation, making sure the update is installed into the same location as the previous version, and all installed plugin formats are being updated.

Envelope triggering via LFO and sequencer was reworked in order to fix multiple bugs in this area. This means some presets might not sound as intended anymore. We therefore recommend to finish ongoing projects before updating to the new version. Please refer to the “Patch Conversion Tips” file to get more info on how to adjust your presets.

Dodo MIDI by Dodo Bird 0 (0)

screen_shot_80

Dodo MIDI is a voice to MIDI plugin, it detects the incoming audio, which can be voice or musical instruments, and controls the pitch and volume of any synthesizer or sampler you connect to it.

What sets it apart from all the other audio to MIDI software packages available, is that it really works incredibly well and is extremely useful as a live musical instrument!

For the first time, you can play (almost) any synthesizer or sampler just by using your voice, with imperceptible latency, and exceedingly accurate control over legato, slides and articulation.

Dodo MIDI isn’t a gimmick or toy Audio to MIDI software, it is a state of the art MIDI controller designed from the bottom up to be used by professional musicians in live performances, music producers and sound designers looking to expand their arsenal of creative tools.

Astral Dreamer Free by HG Fortune 5 (1)

Astral-Dreamer_Free_3

Astral Dreamer is a 3 PCM wave oscillators synthesizer.

There are dedicated routing options starting right at the oscillators which can be routed to one of the two filters, a flanger, or direct to the VCA. So you can have a dedicated soundmodifier for each oscillator allowing a wide variety of multicoloured sounds within a single patch very much like multilayered sounds.

Each oscillator has got an Additional Harmonics Shaper (AHS) to enrich sound in generating shapeable upper harmonics from the selected wave. The character of this additional sound ranges from rich choruslike to metallic sounds and can be mixed – also via modulation – to the original wave.

The new waveset coming with Astral Dreamer does contain carefully processed waves to provide a wide variety of soundsources: Synth waves from real analog, virtual analog and digital synths, complex waveforms, soundscapes (mostly image generated sounds), plus some XFx sounds. Besides the routing possibilities there are a lot of modulation options to shape the sound into some intricate motion. And the straightforward GUI provides instant access to all controls for quick editing and tweaking to shape your sound.

Soundsources:

  • 3 PCM wave Oscillators each with 128 waves plus Additional Harmonics Shaper.

Filters:

  • 1 24 dB resonant Lowpass filter with ADSR EG and 4 channel mod mixer.
  • 1 12 dB resonant Lo, Hi or Bandpass filter with ADSR EG and 4 channel mod mixer.
  • Filter Routing: parallel or serial possible.
  • 1 Flanger.

Mod sources:

  • 2 Aux ADSR EG (3 & 4).
  • 3 bpm synced LFO.
  • 1 bpm synced Sample & Hold.
  • 1 bpm synced double LFO with phase shifting.

Output:

  • 1 VCA ADSR EG.
  • 1 Pan for direct signal.
  • 1 Pan for delay signal.
  • 1 Delay.
  • 1 Stereo Reverb.
  • 1 Saturate/LoBoost (4 modes).

Other:

  • Lazy button system.
  • Velocity Sensivity slider.
  • visual display of LFO motion (can be hidden).
  • 4 voices, 128 patches.
  • MIDI Learn/CC Edit for most control elements.
  • Inbuilt MIDI CC display.
