The Quilcom SIM-GYL is a plugin that aims to synthesise the sound of an African Gyil which is a xylophone with a distinctive buzzing sound caused by membranes stuck onto the resonation gourds. The model, which uses no samples, can be set up for other instrument sounds too, as demonstrated by the presets.

The library comes with over 950 different epic grooves and an assortment of stems for each groove – offering you full control of each part. Everything is tempo-synced to your DAW and grooves were recorded at 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130 and 140 BPM.

The New Hybrid Rhythms contains a fully rendered 3D User Interface with a variety of new controls, including Tempo-Synced Gate, Reverse, Randomizer, Speed Control, Pitch Envelope, Glide and Offset – all accessible from the front-interface. In addition, you can pulse and crossfade between different grooves using our new A/B functionality. You can also go deeper into our Chaos FX and control everything from Filters, Step-Based Filtering, 3 EQ, Stereo Delay, Bit Crusher, Distortion, Dual-Convolution reverb with convolution FX.

The New Hybrid Rhythms contains a variety of advanced and easy-to-use controls – allowing you to completely redesign the many hundreds of grooves. We created a user-interface that gives you everything you need on one single screen. Whether it is a 4-Band EQ, Control over Dynamics, Attack, Release. Whether it is our internal articulation browser – allowing you to find Cinematic Grooves in an instant. Whether it is our tempo-synced speed controls (Half Tempo, Normal, X2 Tempo), Filters or our Advanced Gate Function – allowing you to get the Cinematic Grooves ultra tight to your composition.
Percussive Layering and Ultra Tempo-Sync
The New Hybrid Rhythms unique design allows you to control different parts of the cinematic grooves by their frequency range. We divided all the grooves into stems of Low, Mid and High range – and because everything is 100% tempo-synced – you can freely mix any groove fragment with any other. The New Hybrid Rhythms allows you to mix between 10 different grooves within a single patch. This creates an infinite amount of combinations and allows you to create completely unique, stellar sound epic cinematic grooves in a matter of seconds. We also recommend blending The New Hybrid Rhythms with our extensive Epic Percussion Series, which is used in majority of current Blockbuster Movies, TV-Shows and Video Games.
Complete Control
The New Hybrid Rhythms is all about control – offering you the ability to mix up to 10 different grooves in real-time. We created the user-interface so you have instant access to a large assortment of primary controls, Step-Based Filter Modulation, 4-Band EQ, Custom Gate function that allows you to “tighthen” the sound of the groove. We also added Filters with Cut-Off and Resonation control. Full tempo-sync features, Dynamics, Attack, Release and a control that shows you what key you are in. Textural Convolution Delay – that creates additional delays of convolutions on top of the groove. Options, options, options – yet it all works effortlessly.
New 3.3 FX CHAOS Engine
Our FX CHAOS Engine allows you to STACK, RANDOMIZE, REVERSE and CHAOS any or ALL patches with a single click. It is one of the most extreme feature in The New Hybrid Rhythms. The FX CHAOS Engine allows you make over 1.500 sample parameters randomize with one click, while also randomizing our new 8Dio FX System. So both the sample content and the assigned FX will be randomized in one glorious cocktail – all with one click.
FKFX Influx lets you create new grooves from your current input. Selecting “WET ONLY” will output only the transformed part of the signal.
