ModulAir is a modular polyphonic software synthesizer for Microsoft Windows (VST) and Apple macOS (VST/AU) written in native C++ code for high performance and low CPU consumption.

ModulAir is a work in progress and as of now with only a bunch of quirky presets and a lousy documentation. I am constantly adding modules and stuff to it. :-)

Beatzille: little monster
Beatzille is a compact version of our monster modular synthesizer Bazille. Although its condensed feature set makes it the ‘little brother’, Beatzille is still an engaging and capable synthesizer. Power and style run in the family. Digital oscillators, analogue-style filter and flexible patching will keep you busy for a good while before thinking about tackling Bazille.

Small and mighty
Striking the balance between too much and too little, Beatzille is the happy medium. It presents an introduction to modular synthesis and a taste of the power of Bazille without being overwhelming.

Oscillators
Beatzille’s oscillators embrace two digital synthesis methods developed during the 1980s: frequency modulation (FM) and phase distortion (PD). We also added a process we call fractal resonance (Fractalize), which sounds similar to the classic oscillator sync effect when swept.

All three synthesis methods run simultaneously, so you can combine them to create an extensive range of sounds. Beatzille is great at generating weird modular blips and squeaks, but you can even coax soft pads and organic keys from the oscillators—as demonstrated by the factory library. Add modulation for even more sound possibilities.

Filter
The filter is a favourite in the sound designer’s toolkit. Cut frequencies, boost others, add texture and colour. Beatzille’s analogue-style filter complements the digital oscillators, providing warmth and drive. And its self-oscillation capability opens up some intriguing sound design opportunities.

Even with a single filter Beatzille offers plenty of creative horizons. The six parallel outputs (highpass, bandpass and four types of lowpass) with multiple modulation options make it easy to create complex, shifting textures.

Delay
Beatzille has only one built-in effect, but it’s good one: stereo delay with optional host sync. Push your sound around in space with independent delay times and volumes for each channel. Conjure ghostly echoes using tape-like wobble and filtering or set up endless repetitions. Tweak all controls to find the perfect delay.

The Windows installer was improved to prevent common installations issues. Please check the suggested installation paths during installation, making sure the update is installed into the same location as the previous version, and all installed plugin formats are being updated.

Envelope triggering via LFO and sequencer was reworked in order to fix multiple bugs in this area. This means some presets might not sound as intended anymore. We therefore recommend to finish ongoing projects before updating to the new version. Please refer to the “Patch Conversion Tips” file to get more info on how to adjust your presets.

Astral Dreamer is a 3 PCM wave oscillators synthesizer.

There are dedicated routing options starting right at the oscillators which can be routed to one of the two filters, a flanger, or direct to the VCA. So you can have a dedicated soundmodifier for each oscillator allowing a wide variety of multicoloured sounds within a single patch very much like multilayered sounds.

Each oscillator has got an Additional Harmonics Shaper (AHS) to enrich sound in generating shapeable upper harmonics from the selected wave. The character of this additional sound ranges from rich choruslike to metallic sounds and can be mixed – also via modulation – to the original wave.

The new waveset coming with Astral Dreamer does contain carefully processed waves to provide a wide variety of soundsources: Synth waves from real analog, virtual analog and digital synths, complex waveforms, soundscapes (mostly image generated sounds), plus some XFx sounds. Besides the routing possibilities there are a lot of modulation options to shape the sound into some intricate motion. And the straightforward GUI provides instant access to all controls for quick editing and tweaking to shape your sound.

In the beginning there was a man… This man developed a piece of software that was truly incredible. All the little boys and girls, mainly audiophiles thrived on this mans work. Everyone was happy. UNTIL ONE DAY.

The software that everyone knew and loved STOPPED WORKING, nobody could buy it, those who had already bought it… could no longer activate it.. All that was left were many unanswered questions. Soon these qustions were answered.. (kind of).

So you see there was no hope going forward… the audiophiles would all be doomed to scour the interwebs for any kind of alternative… yet they would all leave the young audiophiles still feeling empty, while standing in the shadow cast by ODeus ASIO Link. One brave audiophile said “NO! I WONT STAND FOR THIS! I WILL REVERSE ENGINEER THIS PROGRAM!” and this young audiophile was…. NOT ME. Yet he did find me and bring this (problem/nightmare/time suck/amazing reverse engineering feat/success story) to me after having already suffered 85+ hours. Together (G.A. Collective) spend the next few days (many hours for each of them), jumping through the previously mentioned incredible person’s (ODeus) code at the binary level.. LET ME REMIND YOU… this guy could code… yea… check that string length 10 times please… yea.. it was great.. IN THE END WE BRING YOU…

This effectively allows you to use more than one ASIO interface at the same time in CbB (even ones on an external networked PC), allowing up to 64 input/output channels.  At the moment I’ve no idea how this affects latency, but I guess if it’s lots of inputs you need then it’s likely it’s a whole band you’re recording and this will be less of a concern. I can also see it being really useful for making tutorial videos.
