Stochas is a revolutionary new type of step sequencer that has a unique randomization engine. Designed to work either in mono or polyphonic modes the engine will select from a set of user inputted notes and takes into consideration the probability set for each, this means Stochas can be used to create evolving melodies, rich sounding string and synth sections, unique bass lines and even chaotic yet looping drum patterns, perfect for live and recorded performances. Chord input and predefined scales, make editing and inputting patterns quick and easy, without any knowledge needed of music theory.

With the ability to create polyrhythmic and polymetric patterns up to 64 steps in length, independently on each of the 4 layers, Stochas can create interesting ideas for your next musical project, be it a Phillip Glass style classical piece with varying rhythmical and metric sequences playing against each other, to a polymeric dance style project that has more life and rhythm than the standard 4/4 patterns. Patterns can be chained and created so that little phrases can be triggered randomly during the playback sequence, this can also be used to prevent repetition of the same note if using Stochas to write a bass line or to keep the pattern evolving.

With the groove template editor, you have total control over the timing and feel of the playback in Stochas, these can also be saved and loaded into other sessions, allowing you to recreate the same feel from track to track easily. MIDI input control means that you can use any hardware controller or another MIDI channel to control Stochas, allowing for live performance control of the polymeric lengths, transpositions, the bias of the maximum number of notes played.

Features:

  • Randomisation engine works in both mono and polyphonic modes.
  • Groove templates with export and import function.
  • Chord input.
  • Predefined key and scales, including custom import.
  • Note chains for phrase creation.
  • up to 64 grid steps and 125 rows.
  • Humanization control.
  • Polyrhythmic and polymetric control.
  • 4 layers and 8 patterns.
  • Midi input for live performance control.

Monique – Bass and Lead Synthesizer by Monoplugs

Monique is a unique synthesizer for deep basses and aggressive lead sounds.

This synthesizer comes with a very special morphing feature that gives you the capabilities of up to 8 different programs in one. It’s a perfect instrument for jamming and live performances — and it’s pure fun! See the first video below: “Monique Morphing.”

Monique not only comes with special controls — she is also a deep and powerful sounding synthesizer. To get an idea how this synth sounds, take a look and listen through the second video below: Monique’s Sound.

Sometimes special synths need a bit more attention, so we’ve prepared the detailed, 20-minute tutorial video Monique Basics to reveal the fundamentals about this mysterious girl. It includes:

  • Special free filter routing.
  • Continuous morphable oscillators.
  • Advanced modulation and automation possibilities.
  • Built-in effects.
  • Arpeggiator (or sequencer).

– New skins, including the lovely “Royal Surge” skin and greatly improved Classic and Dark skins
– New filters, with multiple new filter models
– A complete implementation of a multi-segment envelope generator (MSEG) as a modulation source
– A large number of Airwindows FX available in the FX chain
– A bunch of amazing new content! We now have more than 2000 presets in the library!

OSCILLATORS

3 oscillators per scene.

8 versatile oscillator algorithms: Classic, Sine, Wavetable, Window, FM2, FM3, S&H Noise and Audio Input.

Classic oscillator is a morphable pulse/saw/dual saw oscillator with a sub-oscillator and hard sync.

FM2/FM3 oscillators consist of a carrier and 2 or 3 modulators and various options.

Most algorithms (except FM2, FM3 and Audio input) offer up to 16-voice unison at the oscillator level.

Oscillator FM and ring modulation between oscillators 1-2 and 2-3.

Most oscillator algorithms (except FM2, FM3 and Sine) are strictly band-limited, yet still cover the entire audible spectrum, delivering a clear, punchy and clean sound.

Noise generator with variable spectrum.

FILTER BLOCK

Two filter units in 8 different configurations.

Feedback loop available in 7 of those configurations.

Available filter algorithms: Lowpass (12 and 24 dB/oct, each with 3 variations), Lowpass 24 dB/oct (3 variations), Ladder Lowpass (6-24 dB/oct), Highpass (12 and 24 dB/oct, each with 3 variations), Bandpass (12 and 24 dB/oct, each with 3 variations), Notch (12 and 24 dB/oct, each with 2 variations), Comb (4 variations), S&H.

Filters can self-oscillate (with excitation) and respond amazingly fast to cutoff frequency changes.

Waveshaper (5 shapes).

MODULATION

12 LFO units available, 6 are per voice and 6 are global for the whole scene.

DAHDSR envelope generators on every LFO.

7 deformable LFO waveforms and step sequencer mode.

Voice LFOs allow envelope retriggering when used as step sequencer.

Extremely fast and flexible modulation routing. Almost every continuous parameter can be modulated!

EFFECTS

8 effect units arranged as 2 inserts per scene, 2 sends and 2 master effects.

13 effect algorithms:

EQ, Distortion, Conditioner (EQ, stereo image control and limiter), Frequency Shifter, Rotary Speaker, Ring Modulator, Vocoder, Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Delay, Reverb 1, Reverb 2

discoDSP OB-XD v2.2 x64 VST VST3 AU AAX WiN MAC LiNUX [FREE] 5 (1)

OB-Xd is based on the Oberheim OB-X. It attempts to recreate its sound and behavior, but as the original was very limited in some important ways a number of things were added or altered to the original design. OB-Xd was designed to sound as good and as rich as the original. It implements micro random detuning which is a big part of that sound.

What’s new

• 7x faster GUI controls.
• Linux build.
• Standalone app.
• Signed and notarized installers.
• Updated JUCE framework to 5.4.7 for better stability and compatibility.
• Updated Banks with 2.0 compatibility.
• Ilkka Rosma Dark Theme.
• macOS Catalina support.
• MIDI CC Learn.
• MIDI CC support.
• Parameter refactor.
• XML based skinning.
• HiDPI (Retina) ready GUI themes.

Overview

While not copying originals, some of the features were taken to a better point. Continuous blendable multimode filter (HP-Notch(BP)-HP in 12 dB mode and 4-1 pole in 24 dB mode). Also, like many synths of the OB-X’s generation, the OB-Xd has no internal effects so its sounds and textures can be greatly enhanced by the use of additional processing like chorus, reverb, delay, etc.

Thanks to 2Dat for the original OB-Xd and Soshi Studio for giving the rights to continue this wonderful product. Also thanks to all KVR artists for making the amazing skins!. OB-Xd Desktop has no restrictions and is free to use. Buy to support further development, thank you! Source code is available under GPL license at GitHub.

SpectMorph is a free software project which allows to analyze samples of musical instruments, and to combine them (morphing). It can be used to construct hybrid sounds, for instance a sound between a trumpet and a flute; or smooth transitions, for instance a sound that starts as a trumpet and then gradually changes to a flute. In its current version, SpectMorph ships with many ready-to-use instruments which can be combined using morphing.
SpectMorph is implemented in C++ and licensed under the GNU LGPL version 3.
