FSUMpeg by Cybergrunge.net 0 (0)

fsumpeg

FSUMpeg is a real-time Lossy compression plugin that emulates low quality audio codecs, poor quality noise reduction algorithms, glitched/broken audio transmission etc.

It is inspired by the strange artifacts and responsiveness of extremely compressed audio codecs. Similar to uploading a video to youtube, downloading it then reuploading, over and over until the quality gets reduced to a glitchy blur. The core of FSUMpeg is ELENA’s spectral modules, which are used to break down incoming signal into a spectrogram, to which various filters are applied. FSUMmpeg features two peak-following or static ring modulators – one pre-FFT and one post-FFT, a bitcrusher and custom waveshaping to achieve extremely lofi bizarre sounds. It has useful bass enhancement knobs and comes in a mono or stereo version.

A uniquely sampled guitar vst perfect for Lofi and Trap
Vinyl Guitar is a character guitar plugin. We sampled a guitar through an actual vinyl record player and then made a playable instrument out of those samples.

Overview
Vinyl Guitar comes with an easy to use interface allowing you to sculpt the sound as needed.

• Fret Noise – Use this macro to control the level of the fret noise you hear when changing notes and chords.

• String Buzz – This macro adds buzz to some strings randomly to more accurately recreate the sound of a real guitar.

• Pick Noise – This macro adds a picked attack to the start of the sound.

• Reverb – The reverb knob is a dry wet knob. The reverb settings panel opens a pop up box allowing you to dial in other settings.

• Attack/Release/Dynamics – This section of the GUI allows you to change how the guitar plays to fit your playing style or MIDI.

OS-251 by Onsen Audio 0 (0)

OS-251_screenshot

OS-251 is a pure digital lo-fi synthesizer plugin for Mac, Windows and Linux. Available in VST3 and AU plugin formats for free.

Digital lo-fi sounds

OS-251 is a “JUNO” style digital subtractive synthesizer with a simple yet powerful DSP algorithm. Unlike other plugins that use analogue simulation, OS-251 uses digital algorithms to give warm, lo-fi sounds. The design of the oscillators and the selection of parameters were influenced by the JUNO-106, making it easier to express a thicker, chunkier sound.

The oscillator has alias noise (specific to digital signal processing) famous on classic samplers like E-mu SP-12 which adds lo-fi feeling to the sound. You can enjoy the powerful sound at modern sampling rates with your DAW.

Easy to use

OS-251 is equipped with only carefully selected parameters, allowing musicians to concentrate on music production. You can see every parameter at once, so you can have a stress-free experience. Because the number of the parameters is limited, you can create the desired sounds yourself quickly and you don’t have to spend your precious time choosing presets.

Key features:

  • Up to 10 voices of polyphony.
  • Oscillators (Sin, Square, Saw), with Shape parameter.
  • Square sub oscillator.
  • Noise oscillator.
  • Biquad low-pass filter (LPF) with Frequency and Resonance parameters.
  • Biquad high-pass filter (HPF) with Frequency parameter.
  • Envelope generator which can control LPF and amplitude.
  • Low-frequency oscillator (LFO) which can control LPF, amplitude, and Shape parameter.
  • LFO sync.
  • Chorus.
  • Flexible pitch controls (pitch bend width, octave, semitone, fine tuning).

Cymatics Origin v1.0.0 VST AU AAX WiN MAC [FREE] 0 (0)

min-origin-main-img

What exactly is Origin?
Origin is a vintage/lofi plugin created to make your samples sound like they’re straight from an old tape machine.

The main knob is a resampler/bitcrusher with two special filters to make your samples sound “underwater” (this effect can often be heard in Drake songs)

The other four knobs are Tape Saturation, Noise, Movement, and Chorus. Using these 5 powerful controls you can instantly give your samples a vintage vibe.

*Origin is 64 bit only

What’s under the hood of Origin?
Origin was built based on vintage gear to give the most realistic analog sound.

The “Movement” knob (or Wow/Flutter) has a special mode that uses a randomizer algorithm to create realistic tape pitch wobbles.

We also replicated the famous Juno 106 chorus sound with the two classic slow and fast chorus modes.

Finally, the tape saturation modes are modeled from vintage tape machines. Using these in tandem with the noise knob and Resampler, you will get an undeniable vintage tone to your sounds.

How does the Resampler engine work?
The core of Origin is its resampler, which changes the sample rate of your running audio in real-time. However, reducing the sample rate alone will produce bitcrusher-style artifacts called “images.” In many cases, these aren’t desirable. Removing these images using Origin’s special filters results in an effect similar to a brick-wall lowpass filter, but with an altogether different sonic character.

Rather than turning down the cutoff on a lowpass filter to cut high frequencies, Origin mathematically forbids high frequencies from existing above the resampler cutoff frequency.

*This effect is the famous “underwater” effect you hear on a lot of melodies in Drake songs.

NB01 – distortion/sustainer by Noizebox – KVR Challenge 0 (0)

NB01 – distortion/sustainer is the first plugin from Noizebox Industries. Made for KVR DC21.

Inspired by a circuit from an ancient guitar pedal that was originally intended as a soft-distortion-sustainer for guitars. Giving that singing sustain without a lot of harsh distortion. This is a modern take on the same circuit, not a straight up clone, more of a work-alike inspired by the original circuit. Though a fair amount of work has gone into modelling the peculiar anomalies of an overdriven, asymmetrically clipping, amplifier circuit with a FET-based feedback loop that works like a crude compressor, prone to overcompensating.

NB01 adds control over the amount of compression applied and the response time. It its fastest setting it is not really a compressor as it starts altering the waveform of the incoming sound. It also add tone controls for more versatility in shaping the sound. The tone controls are a mix of pre and post filtering that makes them interact with the overdriven amplifier circuit in interesting ways.

The signal chain is processed with 4x times oversampling with high quality elliptical downsampling filters to limit aliasing and accurate modelling. Real time parameter smoothing for glitch-free operation. Written in native C++ for performance and small footprint. Hardware accelerated, vector based UI.

Use it as overdrive before a guitar amp plugin for a sweet, compressed and singing tone. Preferably with a bit of midrange boost to cut through. It’s is also perfect for destroying drum loops. Either by rolling off the bass and making the compressor slam the transients.

Or by cranking up the low end for really making the compressor duck like crazy on the kicks, by setting the response time to moderately fast, you can tweak the gain knob to find a sweetspot where the bass triggers the compression in just the right way.

Or try it on any other material, lofi vocals, adding grime to basslines or any other creative ways of destroying sounds.

Controls:

  • Gain: Sets the gain of the circuit, higher values produce more distortion.
  • Compression amount: Sets the amount of compression applied. There’s a lot of range here. At extreme settings the compression will be negative, i.e. a 3 dB volume increase will result in more than 3 dB gain reduction. This can cause a bubbling/pumping/grinding artefacts at some combinations of high reaction speed and high compression when the circuit switches back and forth between overcompensation. This is not a bug, it’s a feature and lot’s of weird distortions can be discovered here.
  • Compression Speed: Sets the reaction time of the compressor feedback, higher values create more distortion as the compressor starts to chew on the waveform rather that the envelope of the sound.
  • Stereo: This switches between Fully independent stereo processing, stereo processing with linked compressors and mono processing.
  • Tonelomidhigh: Tone controls are fairly straight forward. All controls at 12 o clock means a reasonably flat response. Tone controls are also a combination of pre and post clipping, which creates more interesting textures.
  • Scope: Just for amusement really. but it’s fun to watch.
  • Master level: Sets the output volume for balancing the mix.

Oldigy by Syntler 0 (0)

32 bit VST2; 64 bit VST2, VST3, AU plugin

Oldigy is a plug-in that emulates the sound of low-resolution digital systems. With Oldygy you can emulate the sound of old samplers, game consoles, phones, or simply add digital distortion to your sound. Oldigy replaced Oldigy-T (track) in the Syntler product line. Now the plugin works in stereo mode. And also you can choose not only the bit depth but also the sampling rate. The plugin does not require instructions, if you know at least a little bit about digital sound.

Controls:

  • SAMPLING RATE button – selecting the sampling rate. Depends on the current sampling rate of your DAW. From 3675 to 22050 for 44/88K and from 4000 to 24000 for 48/96K. Press the button repeatedly until the desired sampling rate is set.
  • BIT DEPTH button – selects the bit depth from 4 to 12.
  • NONLINE PCM button – you can use non-uniform pulse code modulation. This means that the compounder is included in the signal processing circuit. The input signal is compressed and the output signal is expanded. This increases the accuracy of the digitization at low signal levels and decreases the accuracy at high signal levels. This has a good effect on the signal-to-noise ratio. With Oldigy you can choose how much nonlinear modulation will affect the input signal. From 0 to 100 percent in increments of 25. In real devices there is no such possibility. This adjustment allows you to add the desired level of “digital dirt” more accurately.
  • FILTER button – Adjusts the depth of the adaptive filter. The filter softens digital artifacts depending on the level of the input signal.
  • ON – BYPASS button.

Oldigy is а free plugin. Use it in your projects and get good old warm digital sound). Enjoy!
