Revolutionary audio sample editing.
When you drag and drop an audio file into the plugin, it is sent to our server for processing. Once this is completed, you recieve the result with all the notes in the audio seperated. In order to edit the notes, we generate a MIDI file that you can drag into the Samplab track. From now on, the plugin acts like a virtual instrument: It gets the MIDI events as input from your DAW and plays the (edited) notes. If you don’t make any changes to the MIDI, the result should sound the same as the original audio. Of course, you can also just use the MIDI file for other things.

The Samplab Plugin should be compatible with most DAW’s that support the VST3 or AU plugin formats. It has been verified to work with Ableton Live (10.1 or higher) and FL Studio on Windows and Mac.

An Internet connection is only required to transform new audio files. Once the result is received, you can use and manipulate it indefinitely without being connected to the Internet.

The playback speed of the notes is determined by the tempo of the MIDI files. When you upload a new audio, we estimate its tempo. You can adjust this estimate by changing the “Estimated BPM” in the plugin. For the change to take effect, you have to drag the MIDI file into your DAW again.”

What is a Zebralette?

-ette: an English suffix indicating a diminutive form
Zebralette is an introduction to Zebra2’s powerful oscillators. Zebra2 can seem overwhelming at first glance, so we stripped it down to a single oscillator plus a few other features and created Zebralette, the little Zebra. Once you master Zebralette you can move up to Zebra2 with confidence. And your presets can come with you, as Zebralette presets can be opened in Zebra2.

But more than a teaching tool, Zebralette is an incredible sounding synth in its own right. Surrounding Zebra’s spectral oscillator with a few core modulation options and effects make Zebralette highly capable. With unsion options (think supersaw, but Zebralette is not limited to saw waves, so we refer to it as superwave), 16 voice polyphony and two different envelopes, you have everything needed to create some marvellously complex sounds.

Diminutive? Yes. Powerful? Yes.

Zebra oscillator
One oscillator may not seem like enough for a synthesizer, but Zebra2 oscillators are rather powerful and clever.

It resembles many other oscillators you may have used. You can choose a waveset from the included library, or use the waveform editor to draw your own shapes. Here is where things start to get interesting: The Waveform Editor manages up to 16 different waves and lets you rearrange, duplicate and morph between individual waves. Use one of modulation sources and the WaveWarp control to scan through the 16 waves and create unusual, dynamic sounds.

There are four drawing modes: GeoMorph, SpectroMorph, GeoBlend, SpectroBlend, each offering a different approach to creating and manipulating waveforms.

Using the two Geo modes you draw the waveform shape using up to 32 points, while the Spectro modes let you create the harmonic spectrum over 128 columns. When using WaveWarp to scan through the waveset, Morph alters the waveform, whereas Blend blends (crossfades) between adjacent waves.

Audacity 3.0.0 Released 5 (1)

Audacity 3.0.0

.aup3 Project Format

Audacity 3.0.0 is a major update on our previous Audacity 2.4.2. We’ve changed the format in which we save Audacity projects! Previously we saved projects as a sometimes large number of small files, with an ‘.aup’ file to coordinate the lot. This way of doing things is sometimes called ‘pile of files’ storage.

The problem, which happened all too often, was that data files and .aup file parted ways. Users quite reasonably expected the .aup file to contain the entire project. Well, the new .aup3 file does contain the data as well. The technical detail is that we are using an open source database, SQLite3, to store everything in one .aup3 file. That all happens ‘behind the scenes’. SQLite3 is open source, and it is a delight to work with. Nevertheless, this was a huge change, and we decided it was too risky to include many other changes we wanted to make at the same time – so 3.0.0 is almost entirely about this big format change.

Working with .aup3 projects editing audio should on most machines be a little faster than before, because there are fewer files being worked on. Finishing and closing a project at the end of working can be quite a lot slower, since there is more to do when a project is closed. We think the trade offs are worth it.

Importantly note that you can open your older .aup projects in Audacity 3.0.0 where they will be converted to the new .aup3 format.

Label Sounds & Noise Gate

We did have time to improve our ‘Noise Gate’ effect and add a new analyzer, ‘Label Sounds’, that can label sounds and silences. We also made a few small tweaks elsewhere. You can now import and export macros, and there are a couple of new commands for using the last used tool or last used analyzer that you can give shortcuts to.

Bugs fixed

We also fixed over 160 bugs that had been accumulating over the years. This is quite a staggering amount of work. The majority of these bugs were minor problems, easily worked around. Some though were really juicy high priority bugs that would have mattered a lot to the people affected by them. We’re really glad to have these bugs fixed now.

We hope you enjoy using Audacity 3.0.0 as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

Stochas by Surge Synth Team 0 (0)

Stochas is a revolutionary new type of step sequencer that has a unique randomization engine. Designed to work either in mono or polyphonic modes the engine will select from a set of user inputted notes and takes into consideration the probability set for each, this means Stochas can be used to create evolving melodies, rich sounding string and synth sections, unique bass lines and even chaotic yet looping drum patterns, perfect for live and recorded performances. Chord input and predefined scales, make editing and inputting patterns quick and easy, without any knowledge needed of music theory.

With the ability to create polyrhythmic and polymetric patterns up to 64 steps in length, independently on each of the 4 layers, Stochas can create interesting ideas for your next musical project, be it a Phillip Glass style classical piece with varying rhythmical and metric sequences playing against each other, to a polymeric dance style project that has more life and rhythm than the standard 4/4 patterns. Patterns can be chained and created so that little phrases can be triggered randomly during the playback sequence, this can also be used to prevent repetition of the same note if using Stochas to write a bass line or to keep the pattern evolving.

With the groove template editor, you have total control over the timing and feel of the playback in Stochas, these can also be saved and loaded into other sessions, allowing you to recreate the same feel from track to track easily. MIDI input control means that you can use any hardware controller or another MIDI channel to control Stochas, allowing for live performance control of the polymeric lengths, transpositions, the bias of the maximum number of notes played.

Features:

  • Randomisation engine works in both mono and polyphonic modes.
  • Groove templates with export and import function.
  • Chord input.
  • Predefined key and scales, including custom import.
  • Note chains for phrase creation.
  • up to 64 grid steps and 125 rows.
  • Humanization control.
  • Polyrhythmic and polymetric control.
  • 4 layers and 8 patterns.
  • Midi input for live performance control.

Digital Suburban Dexed v0.9.5 x64 x86 VST VST3 AU WiN MAC [FREE] 0 (0)

Dexed is a multi platform, multi format plugin synth that is closely modeled on the Yamaha DX7. Under the hood it uses music-synthesizer-for-android for the synth engine.

The goal of this project is to be a tool/companion for the original DX7. Sound engine with ‘float’ value parameters, different waveform à la TX81z would be great but anything that goes beyond the DX7 should and will be a fork of this project. This is to keep the compatibility with the original machine.

Dexed is licensed on the GPL v3.

Features:
• Multi platform (OS X, Windows or Linux) and multi format (VST, AU, LV2).
• The sound engine music-synthesizer-for-android is closely modeled on the original DX7 characteristics.
• 144 DAW automatable DX7 parameters available from one single panel.
• Fully supports DX7 input and output Sysex messages; including controller change. This means that you can use this with a native DX7/TX7 as a patch editor and SysEx manager.
• Each operator have a realtime VU meter to know which one is active.
• Can load/save any DX7/TX7 SysEx programs. It is also possible to save a single program into a different SysEx file.
