This VST effect can be used for light analog coloration, to add color and warmth to the tracks, but also for heavy distortions and signal destruction. The plugin can be used with synths, drums, guitars, in mix etc.

It includes 2x over-sampled analog modeled liquid filter and analog type distortion.

The plugin is available as a 32/64-bit VST for Windows.

SC-3 is a clavinet influenced instrument.

Keys Section: Phase simulates Pickup mixing. Octave can be used to switch between 3 octaves. +Keys introduces a 1 octave higher instrument (this is a subtle effect).

Timbre Section: Tone is used to control the frequency brightness. Timbre Velocity is used to add a level of attack brightness. Experiment between these two controls to introduce various shapes, especially for Twang effect.

Tone Section: Simple cut and boost for overall tone of the instrument.

Shape Section: These controls are used to create various feel to the playing and adjust the envelope of the instrument. The effect of these controls work closely with the Timbre Section.

Amplifier Section: These controls influence the final output of the instrument.
Velocity sensitivity can be increased from less active to more. The distortion control provides a natural saturation to the output.

Mute: This slider simulates a dampen effect on strings.

Shape is a simple waveshaper/wavefolder effect that has 5 shaping curves, Hard Clip, Soft Clip, Tube, Triangle, and Sine.


User Interface
  • Scope
    • The scope visualizes shaping curve (transfer function) that maps Input and output values to the horizontal and vertical axes, respectively.
      The darker orange color line visualizes the shaping curve.
      The brighter orange color line visualizes the range of the audio signal.
      The shape selector selects the shaping curve.
  • Input
    • The Input control adjusts the amount of gain. Increasing the amount of gain produces more harmonics.
  • Bias
    • The bias control adjusts the amount of bias. The bias creates asymmetrical distortion, producing warm even harmonics.
  • Dry/Wet
    • The dry/wet control adjusts the balance of the dry and wet signal.
  • Output
    • The Output control adjusts the output volume.
  • Oversampling
    • The Oversampling chooser selects the oversampling factor. Oversampling reduces alias noise caused by nonlinear effects such as saturator, overdrive, distortion, and clipper. Increasing the oversampling factor can reduce alias noise more, but increases CPU load and latency.

Operating the controls
  • Fine-tune the knob
    • To fine-tune the knob, hold down the shift key and drag the knob.
  • Reset the knob
    • To reset the knob to the default value, double-click the knob.

What is a Zebralette?

-ette: an English suffix indicating a diminutive form
Zebralette is an introduction to Zebra2’s powerful oscillators. Zebra2 can seem overwhelming at first glance, so we stripped it down to a single oscillator plus a few other features and created Zebralette, the little Zebra. Once you master Zebralette you can move up to Zebra2 with confidence. And your presets can come with you, as Zebralette presets can be opened in Zebra2.

But more than a teaching tool, Zebralette is an incredible sounding synth in its own right. Surrounding Zebra’s spectral oscillator with a few core modulation options and effects make Zebralette highly capable. With unsion options (think supersaw, but Zebralette is not limited to saw waves, so we refer to it as superwave), 16 voice polyphony and two different envelopes, you have everything needed to create some marvellously complex sounds.

Diminutive? Yes. Powerful? Yes.

Zebra oscillator
One oscillator may not seem like enough for a synthesizer, but Zebra2 oscillators are rather powerful and clever.

It resembles many other oscillators you may have used. You can choose a waveset from the included library, or use the waveform editor to draw your own shapes. Here is where things start to get interesting: The Waveform Editor manages up to 16 different waves and lets you rearrange, duplicate and morph between individual waves. Use one of modulation sources and the WaveWarp control to scan through the 16 waves and create unusual, dynamic sounds.

There are four drawing modes: GeoMorph, SpectroMorph, GeoBlend, SpectroBlend, each offering a different approach to creating and manipulating waveforms.

Using the two Geo modes you draw the waveform shape using up to 32 points, while the Spectro modes let you create the harmonic spectrum over 128 columns. When using WaveWarp to scan through the waveset, Morph alters the waveform, whereas Blend blends (crossfades) between adjacent waves.

SPKR-v1.dll is 32-bit windows ONLY Broken Speaker FX / distortion plugin. Designed to emulate blown speakers, malfunctioning stereos and obscure acoustics.

Input is fed into two parallel bandpass filters, and then into a few custom waveshapers (select via “M” mode knob). Before going into waveshaper, DC Offset and Gain can be adjusted. After going through the waveshapers, two more parallel bandpass filters are used, and then “fake stereo” is added via delaying stereo channels, and volume of each filter independently adjustable.

This design comes from the concept of poorly assembled tone circuitry or circuit bent amplification, combined with the effect of broken/blown speakers or speakers with weird frequency response caused by physical conditions. Basically is a circuit-bendable amplifier. This can mangle sound really intensely to almost unrecognizable, or add subtler excitation, saturation or filtering.

Based on 3 Seed numbers each note on the keyboard is a different random sound.
Presets can be selected by entering their Seed numbers, or you can save them the normal way.
This one has velocity responsiveness, and a tone stack for more interesting timbres, plus randomised stereophony.

BASE1 and BASE2 are seed numbers for random generator.
BASE3 randomizes post-processing of the synthesized sounds: filters, envelopes, tone, panning, distortion.

Velocity controls how much note velocity effects a randomly-assigned parameter of the sound (usually pitch, filter cutoff/resonance or distortion drive).
